Ardhachandrasana

Meaning:    Ardha- half; Chandra-moonArdhachandrasana
                   The asana resembles shape of crescent moon
 
Procedure:
 Stand erectly, joining the toes. Place the hands on either side of the body and keep the vision forward. Interlock the fingers and turn the palms. Inhaling,keep the right leg on the right side with one foot gap. Lift the hands above the head. exhale and bend on the right side. Look at the hands and breathe normally a few times in same position. Cnhaling, become straight and repeat the procedure on your left side too.
 
Benefits:
 
  • It tones the lower region of spine
  • Strengthens the skeletal muscles of cervical and thoracic regions
  • Cures neck pain
  • Useful in gastric trouble treatments
  • Tones the nerves of legs also
Limitations:
 
  • Not advisable to women going through menstruation
  • Pregnant women shouldn’t practice it even after 3 months of delivery.
