Janusirsasana

Meaning:  Janu- knee; Sirsa-head;Janusirsasana1 -1
                  In this asana, forehead is kept on the extended knee
 
Procedure:
Sit on the floor with both legs stretched straight,palms on the floor by sides of body and inhale deeply. Exhaling, bend the left leg and keep the heel touching the perineum. Bend forward, catch the right foot with both hands and deeply inhale.then,exhaling, bend forward and keep the forehead on the knee.  take a few normal breaths. now, Inhale, raise the head; release the hands and right leg
  1. Exhaling, fold the right leg and keep the heel touching on the perineum. Bend forward and hold the left foot with both hands
  2. Inhale deeply
  3. Exhaling, bend forward and keep the forehead on the left knee. This is second asanasthiti. Breathe in this position for five times
  4. Release the hands, stretch the right leg and come back to Samasthiti

  • Relieves sciatica pain
 Limitations:
 
  • Patients suffering from high blood pressure should take prior precautions while practicing this because after doing this asana blood flushes to head
