Sanmukhi Mudra

Meaning: Sat- six;  Mukha – face;  Mudra – closing up               
                 The Mudra is called so because  the aspirant looks within himself  to find  the
                 very souce of  his being by closing the six openings

Procedure:
  Sit in padmasana. Inhale slowly. Then after a complete exhalation, hold the  breathe  by closing the ears by thumb, eyes by forefingers, nostrils  by middle fingers, and mouth by remaining set of fingers. Observe inside (final sthiti). Then release the fingers on nose and inhale. After exhalation, repeat the same process five times

Benefits:
Senses are turned inwards
Calms the mind
Brings the feeling of inner peace and  one can hear the divide voice of self within
This practise prepares one for pratyahara
