Urdhwa Mukha Paschimottanasana
Meaning: Urdhwa – up ; Mukha – face
Paschimottasana is done with raised legs
Procedure:
Sit on the floor with legs stretched in front and hands beside the body. Inhaling, lift both the legs straight up from the floor, holding both the toes with respective hands. As you exhale, bend the neck and touch the nose to the knee. Close your eyes and breathe normally a few times. Inhaling, raise the head. Now exhale,keep the legs back on ground and come back to normal sitting posture.

- Cures indigestion, constipation, gastric problems and sciatica
- Tones abdominal muscles
- Relieves lower back ache, due to intense stretch in spine
- Relieves tonsilitis
- Improves function of thyroid gland
Limitation:
Women shouldnot practise it during pregnancy and menstruation
