Yoga for Women – Introduction

A woman’s life isn’t very easy to lead. Do you agree?

The tremendous psychological and social pressure to prove yourself at every place, the whole life span you are expected to perform a plethora of roles and each of them with undisputable perfection. You have to be an obedient daughter, a doting sister, a marvelous dedicated wife, loving and caring mother, flawless manager, competent employee, docile dutiful cultured daughter in law to name a few . Adding to this magnanimous feat is the complexities that loom inside your body, the ever changing hormone levels, menstrual cycle, pregnancy, menopause and the various other intricate body mechanisms that keep you on your toes always.

It’s absolutely appreciative to see that you manage to combat with every role you are assigned to, doing the best you can. But during all these facets of yours, you often tend to forget that you are an individual as well, and have to take care of yourself with same intensity as you do of your beloved ones.

You should understand the fact that as nature has given you the sheer potential to reproduce, you have intensively complicated mechanisms in your body. From the onset of puberty, your body undergoes numerous changes in which a major part is played by hormones. Now if you don’t keep a check on your hormonal levels, it may lead to several disorders and in some cases may prove fatal too. .Similarly, excessive stress and lifestyle disorders can lead to ailments like PCOD, whose consequences can be infertility. Then with time, calcium, iron and other essential elements of body start deteriorating which cause anemia, stiff joints and spine problems. At the same time, today’s life has one too many tensions, consequently making a peaceful life unimaginable. Tackling such complex body mechanisms, plus maintaining a steady mindset is absolute necessity if you want to lead a life free of unwanted diseases and disorders.

Why yoga is recommended when I can do numerous other exercises?

Firstly let’s have a look on what all your body needs:

  • Flexibility of body is of umpteen importance, as you have to multitask, you can’t avail being stiff and rigid
  • Health of internal organs can’t be compromised because they are complex and too delicate.
  • Hormonal balance, as they play pivotal role in woman’s life from the onset of puberty
  • Joint movements have to be taken care of otherwise they can lead to unbearable painful movements
  • Immunity strengthening, because women are prone to numerous disorders owing to their intricate body
  • Maintaining skin health, good hair and preventing wrinkles
  • Regulating eating disorders
  • Improvement of psyche, healthy body and mind and calm attitude.

Not one of the exercises is designed in such a way that you get maximum benefit while devoting minimum energy to it. Neither one of them proves to do all of the above; on the contrary the inner body mechanisms can also get strained due to excessive exertion. For a woman, the practices should be less strenuous, but at the same time should tackle care of all her body inside dout, strengthening each part, and also relaxing in nature. Thus yoga is the ideal solution, in other words completely inevitable. It involves whole body therapy, and consumes very less energy, hence you never feel tired and worn out. Moreover it concentrates on each part of the body, external or internal, helping you to build a strong body thoroughly. Meditation helps to bring out a complete new you with fresh and calm perspectives of life.

In the consecutive posts ,we will discuss some of the disorders and natural occurrences that women go through and how can their impact be reduced, so that you can lead a worry free life.
