Menopause is again a transition phase of a woman’s life, wherein the menstrual cycle stops operating.
 It isn’t a disease or disorder but involves a number of physical and psychological changes. If not taken proper care it can result in a series of problems engulfing you.
  
 
What all symptoms may I face?
 
Symptoms you may face will be of two types:
(You may not face all the symptoms, a few or combination of some symptoms may be observed)
 
Attitude changes:
 
  • Anxiety
  • Mood swings
  • Mental confusion, difficulty in concentrating
  • Depression
  • Irritability
 
Physical changes:
 
  • Joint pain
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Decreased libido
  • Increase in body weight
  • Sleeplessness
  • Hot flashes
  • Fatigue
  • Hair loss
  • Digestive problems
  • Weak bones and nails.
 
What kind of diet is recommended during menopause?
As your body goes through numerous changes, calcium is one of the minerals which grow scarce resulting in weak bones.
Thus calcium supplements become absolute necessity. Food eaten has to be light so that metabolism is regulated, and energy level is maintained.
